LOVECRAFT In FLORIDA Documentary Launches Film Festival Season.
Mike T. Lyddon’s new short documentary film LOVECRAFT In FLORIDA is now in the mix for a variety of Film Festivals for the 2025 – 2026 festival Season.
Several months ago, Mike Lyddon took a trip across the sunshine state to the Atlantic coast of Florida. During his trip, he found locations that famed horror author of weird fiction H.P. LOVECRAFT visited during his life.
These excursions included the fabled Barlow House in DeLand and ancient St. Augustine, originally founded in 1565. It is the oldest city in the United States and one of Lovecraft’s favorite places.
In part one of a two part series, filmmaker Mike Lyddon takes us to DeLand, Florida, site of the legendary Barlow house, home to friend Robert H. Barlow. Barlow played a key role in the preservation of Lovecraft’s letters and manuscripts after he passed away in 1937.
For the first time in any documentary, we see the Barlow house and property as it is today. We also look back at Lovecraft’s and Barlow’s adventures in northeast Florida during the mid-1930s.
Lovecraft In Florida: DeLand And The Barlow House will begin making it’s appearances in film festivals worldwide over the coming months, so stay tuned to this website and follow Mike on his Youtube and Rumble channels.
