Dead Alive aka Braindead from 1992 directed by Peter Jackson.  This gory zombie cult classic movie features the fan favorite Rat Monkey of Sumatra that causes massive mayhem in the quaint 1950s New Zealand town of Wellington.

Lionel’s mum gets bitten by the infamous rat monkey while she spies on her son’s date at the local zoo.  After Lionel takes her back to the house, she succumbs to the rat monkey’s  deadly bite and dies…but not quite!  She returns from the dead a ravenous, blood thirsty monster who infects many more.  Soon, the quaint town of Wellington is overrun by insane flesh eating zombies!

The natives use them in black magic rituals. Don’t ask me how, probably suck the blood of virgins, eh, eh?”
