A NIGHT of HORROR Film Festival Welcomes Lovecraft in Florida.
Mike T. Lyddon’s short documentary film Lovecraft in Florida: DeLand and the Barlow House is an official selection in the forthcoming film festival A Night of Horror.   The acclaimed film festival takes place March 5th through the 8th in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

A Night of Horror film festival is rated in the top 100 festivals on Film Freeway.  It is also in the top 90 genre film festivals worldwide on DREAD CENTRAL.
Lyddon’s doc is a journey across northern Florida to find the fabled Barlow House in DeLand.

DELAND AND THE BARLOW HOUSE

Lovecraft spent months of his life over the course of two trips to DeLand to visit his friend and fellow weird fiction enthusiast, Robert H. Barlow.  Barlow would become pivotal in Lovecraft’s life as an archivist.  He maintained a variety of manuscripts and related materials that would be published after the famed cosmic horror author’s death.

The documentary Lovecraft in Florida: DeLand and the Barlow House is currently in its 2026 film festival run.  The world premiere screening of the film takes place at PENSACON in Pensacola, Florida the weekend of February 20th.  A NIGHT OF HORROR opens on  March 5th, and Lyddon’s doc will be screening at other horror film festivals and conventions over the summer and fall of 2026.

2026 BLU-RAY RELEASE PLANNED

While there is no firm date set, the Lovecraft in Florida documentaries will be released on blu-ray sometime in late summer – early autumn of 2026.  Bookmark this page for further details as they are made available.
